Hello Splatters. If you remember, at our last meeting we watched the youtube video of The Dot. Here is more info. for that creative day. I have signed up and Caitlin, Dillon and I have our "dot " paintings ready to submit. (If I can figure out how to do so this weekend.) We are celebrating Dot Day on Monday.  If you don"t have time to paint or do a big drawing before Monday, use your sketch book and see where making a mark will take you .  Have a great day !

Drawing Academy

Now that school has started,you might want to include some extra guided lessons in drawing. Or, you might just want to have fun !  

Here is a special link that will take you to the Derwent Drawing Academy.

There are 6 free lessons on sketching. Each time you finish a level, you download your drawing and it will critiqued and a email link will be sent to unlock the next class.

When you have completed all 6 classes you will receive a graduation certificate  And you will be sent a wooden box with 18 Derwent inktense or colorsoft pencils.

I plan on starting this week.......!!

You do have to register, but this is a fairly safe site. There may be some figure drawing , but so far I have not come across any.  The Derwent Pencil site has other cool features; a prize draw,color charts and product brochures,How to use their products and hints and tips.

I bet a lot of parents of Splatters would love this site and tutorials as well.

November SPLAT !! meeting .

Woo Hoo  !!  Next Splat meeting is around the first of November. We will be talking about drawing faces.   And we are going to have a special guest artist who will do a short demonstration for us.  

In the mean time try your hand at drawing faces in your sketch books.  Have you done any of the posted challenges yet.  Hmmmm.......there may be a small incentive reward for the member who participates in the most challenges.  Be sure to bring sketch books to the next meeting and anything you wish to share. Remember you can always download and email art work that you would like to be shared here.

Well, we have had our first meeting, chose a name for our group and we even have our own blog.  Now here is our challenge.......we need a logo.  At our meeting I noticed several of you were already thinking along this line.  Let's see what everyone can come up with.  Submit your design via email and I will publish it here.  I have an impartial person in mind who will decide on which design will be our logo. So , when you do submit please leave off signing it. Have fun !!!!!!!
